. Matt Mills
2007/08 appearances: 38. A brilliant loan spell for the young defender culminated in the glorious day at Wembley. Rovers then took the plunge for a permanent move, paying a then club record £300,000 for his services. He made 41 appearances for Rovers in the Championship the following season, attracting plenty of attention in the purchase. After Rovers rejected a £2m bid from Nottingham Forest, Mills joined Reading for a little more. He captained the Royals in the Championship play-off final - a game in which he scored - in 2011. He moved to Leicester that summer, being named club captain. An alleged fall out with manager Nigel Pearson ended his time at Leicester and he joined Bolton Wanderers. . Craig Nelthorpe
2007/08 appearances: 2. The youth team graduate earned a one year contract extension following promotion to the Championship but failed to make another appearance for the club. After leaving Rovers in January 2009, he joined Conference side Oxford United for the remainder of the season. . James O'Connor
2007/08 appearances: 45. Another player who remained with Rovers throughout the Championship run, being a regular until being forced out of the side by Pascal Chimbonda during the ill-fated 'experiment' season. He left Rovers having made more than 200 appearances, joining Derby where he unfortunately was known more of a utility player. O'Connor then enjoyed a strong three year stint at Walsall. . Jason Price
2007/08 appearances: 32. The Afro Goal Machine - who netted in the winner in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final - was used more as a back-up forward during Rovers' first season in the Championship and finished the campaign on loan with Millwall, whom he joined on a permanent deal in the summer of 2009. He failed to find regular football at any club for the remainder of his career, resulting in multiple loan moves from parent clubs Millwall and Carlisle.
