Here, our Rovers writer Liam Hoden selects his top 20 Rovers players from the 2010s, with choices made on individual quality and contribution to the club during their time at the Keepmoat. Let us know your views by emailing [email protected] or tweet @FreePressRovers.
1. 20 - Sam Johnstone
In a period where Rovers had plenty of goalkeepers in on loan, Johnstone was the stand-out and always looked likely to go onto big things, particularly after assured performances in the Championship with Rovers struggling. A great shot stopper with excellent distribution. Photo: MARTYN HARRISON
2. 19 - Paul Keegan
Arguably the unsung hero of the decade. Mr Reliable for Rovers over six years at the club. Not a flashy player by any means but always neat and tidy in the middle of the park. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
3. 18 - George Friend
An exceptionally classy defender who went on to achieve great things in his career. Strong going forward but a calm and composed head at the back in the main. Photo: Anna Gowthorpe
4. 17 - James Husband
Unquestionably the best youngster to come through at Rovers in a long, long time. An enthusiastic and energetic left back who had plenty of quality going up the pitch, as he showed in particular during the 2012/13 campaign. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
