LIVE: Sheffield Wednesday 2 Doncaster Rovers 0
62. Wide
Excellent counterattack from Rovers ends with Ethan Galbraith charging onto a ball in the middle on the edge of the box and lashing a first time effort wide.
60. Perhaps should be 1-0
Wednesday have just had a big chance. Marvin Johnson chipped a ball in from the left and Florian Kamberi rose unmarked, only to head the ball over the bar. Should have done better.
58. Wednesday getting encouraged here
Rovers have not had the same grip on the game that they enjoyed in the first half and Wednesday are being encouraged on a fair amount. The hosts have pushed higher up the pitch and it’s putting greater pressure on the Rovers back line.
53. Another big save
Andre Green is released clear on the right for Rovers and skips past Tom Anderson when he gets into the box. But he takes the ball too close to Pontus Dahlberg, who blocks well with his chest when the shot is taken.
50. Great save Pontus
Lewis Wing cuts inside for Wednesday and unleashes a powerful drive which Pontus Dahlberg acrobatically pushes over the bar. He’s not had a massive amount to do this afternoon but he was ready for that one.
3.50pm: Much, much better
Barring the opening ten to 15 minutes, that has been a superb half of football from Doncaster Rovers.
They overcame the initial nerves to develop into arguably the better of the two sides in possession. They’ve shown real threat as the half has wore on and they are certainly in what is a very competitive game.
Richie Wellens wanted control and he’s seen it from his team, who have been so composed on the ball. They’ve worked it well, particularly down the left while Kyle Knoyle has been a constant outlet on the right.
Good so far
