LIVE: Gillingham 1 Doncaster Rovers 0

Rovers craft a great opportunity with Tiago Cukur pulling the ball back from the right for the on-rushing Joe Dodoo but the forward blasts well over the bar.

34. Almost for Rowe

Tommy Rowe races across the box to get a glancing header on a Ben Close corner. It just dropped wide of the far post.

And it’s some header from Gillingham’s Robbie McKenzie who powers the ball from the edge of the box and clips the outside the post. Pontus Dahlberg didn’t look like he was getting there

23. Better of the attacking play

Rovers are producing some decent stuff in the opposition half but just lacking the final ball so far.

The two sides have cancelled each other out so far. Rovers are looking to move the ball quickly and have been direct with varying degrees of success so far.

Richie Wellens wanted them to look after the ball better tonight but they’re being a little too ambitious with their long passes at times.

Rovers make a few issues for themselves as a spell of danger from Gillingham comes from nothing but Ro-Shaun Williams gets his body and head in the way of a trio of attempts to calm things down.

5. Great opportunity

Really good play from Rovers. Jordy Hiwula picks up space in the middle and slides a superb ball into the box which Kyle Knoyle collects but fires into the side netting. He really should have hit the target.

Gillingham get the game up and running

And the Gills are unchanged from the weekend

And it’s one change from the side that started the defeat to Wycombe at the weekend.

Ethan Galbraith unsurprisingly comes back into the side with Rodrigo Vilca dropping out. And the Peruvian winger misses out entirely due to what we understand is illness.

There’s no surprises that Jon Taylor is not part of the squad after suffering swelling to his ankle following his return to action at the weekend. Taylor is here this evening.

Vilca’s illness and Taylor’s absence leaves Rovers with only six subs as Lirak Hasani comes onto the bench.
