Blackpool 2 Doncaster Rovers 0

A little too late but pleasing all the same

Who would have thought there would be an air of positivity surrounding Doncaster Rovers as they close out the season?

Well, another win tonight would go a long way to ensuring that would remain.

Following up the impressive fight back against Peterborough with a decent win at Rochdale on Saturday has Rovers heading towards the summer on a decent run of form - albeit one that will hardly banish the horrendous decline of the last few months.

But think of these final few games as a reunion tour - getting the band back together for one last blow out and a reminder of the heady days when they were on top of their game. You remember those days? Back in January.

Regardless of all that, Rovers have the opportunity to play a part in the wider League One narrative once again.

After delaying Peterborough’s promotion and condemning Rochdale to League Two, now they can stop Blackpool’s seemingly inevitable securing of a play-off place. Won’t that be fun?
