Rovers see away Lincoln danger

Rovers are happy to see out a ball across their six-yard box for a goal kick. That would have caused mayhem in the first half on Saturday.

Lincoln are a smaller side than Sutton and looking to play a bit more football.

Steady start to this one five minutes in.

Looks like a 4-3-1-2 for Rovers with Tomlin in the 10 behind Agard and Andrews.

Ravenhill is on the right of the midfield three. Clayton central and Biggins to the left of him.

Rovers get us started

Harrison Biggins fires wide inside the opening 30 seconds. Energetic start from the hosts.

Here come the teams

Decent noise greets the players from both sets of fans. The Black Bank is looking colourful.

Looks like Rovers are kicking towards the South Stand in the first half.

Straight to penalties

In the event of a draw after 90 minutes we will go straight to penalties. Music to everyone’s ears, that.

Impressive following

Visitors Lincoln have sold around 800 tickets for tonight. Not bad considering Doncaster have been a bogey team for the Imps over the years.

They haven’t beaten Rovers since 2004.

Four changes for the visitors.

Doncaster Rovers team news

Four changes as Lee Tomlin, Liam Ravenhill, Kieran Agard and Adam Long replace George Miller, Kyle Hurst, Tommy Rowe and Ro-Shaun Williams.

Miller and Rowe missing from the matchday 18. Tom Anderson is here but not involved again.

Rovers taking the cup seriously

Doncaster progressed to the second round of the Carabao Cup under former boss Richie Wellens last term but have not reached the third-round stage since the 2017/18 season, when they were knocked out by Arsenal.

Here’s what boss Gary McSheffrey had to say about the competition...

Lee Tomlin is expected to return to the starting XI following his one-match suspension.

Adam Long could well make his first start for Doncaster, too, and the club were due to make a decision on whether Tom Anderson would be involved tonight earlier today.

The influential defender missed Saturday’s game against Sutton United due to personal reasons.

Charlie Seaman is expected to be in the matchday squad, having been overlooked for selection in the opening two matches.

McSheffrey also hinted youngsters Bobby Faulkner and Tavonga Kuleya could again be involved this evening after making their league debuts last time out.
