Promotion and a league debut - Memorable weekend for two Doncaster-born footballers
It was a weekend to remember for two Doncaster-born professional footballers.
On Friday night, Joel Latibeaudiere helped Coventry City seal promotion to the Premier League. The defender, who hails from Armthorpe and went to Hungerhill School, played 62 minutes of the Sky Blues' 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers - a result that sealed their spot at the top table of English football after a 25-year absence.

The 26-year-old is in his third season at Coventry having come through Manchester City's academy.
He will now have his sights set on helping Frank Lampard's team back in the top flight next term.
On Saturday, another Doncaster-born player hit the headlines when Harrison Duncan made his professional league debut for Rotherham United.
Duncan featured for the already-relegated Millers in their game down at Leyton Orient. The 17-year-old, dubbed as "the next John Stones" after being spotted playing for non-league Doncaster City, came on for the final half-hour in the 2-0 win.
Our colleagues at the Rotherham Advertiser praised his performance down in the capital saying: "An impressive league debut.
"Has the physicality and aggression that you'd expect from a kid of his size and soft feet that you wouldn't.
"Really put up his hand for more game time."
Duncan became the Millers' youngest-ever starter, at 16 years and 130 days, when he played in the Vertu Trophy in October 2024. He turns 18 at the end of May and Rotherham must decide whether or not to turn his youth deal into a professional one.
