"He was down to be modified in the session but he actually trained the whole session. He was excellent, he trained really well.

"He’s fit, whether he’s match-ready is something I’ll have to discuss with the physio.”

Schofield took his first training session on Thursday and says he has a near fully fit squad to choose from ahead of tomorrow’s clash.

"I think we’re pretty good,” he said.

"There’s no new injury concerns since I’ve come in the building, just the ones prior to my arrival.”

Joseph Olowu, Ollie Younger and Josh Andrews are all currently out of action.

Schofield revealed he has seen Doncaster in action several times already this season.

He said: “I’m aware of the players, their strengths and weaknesses, their capabilities.

"It was a fantastic start, we got a lot of points on the board early doors and then petered off a little bit.

"First and foremost the team can be really competitive. Then with tactical information, some key roles and responsibilities, I think we can compete and perform.”
