New fixture date confirmed for Doncaster Rovers’ League One match with Oxford United

The match, initially scheduled to take place on Saturday 26 September, was postponed due to an international break

Doncaster Rovers have discovered the new date in which they’ll play Oxford United in League One.

The pair were scheduled to meet at the Club Doncaster Sports Village on Saturday 26 September when the fixture list was originally announced in June. However, that particular showdown was later postponed due to international call-ups.

As a result, the teams will now face each other on Tuesday 15 December in a 7.45pm kick-off at the Club Doncaster Sports Village. Any tickets bought for the original fixture will remain valid, with no need to take action. If you are no longer able to attend, a full refund can be issued in person at the Club Doncaster Box Office.

The new date for the meeting between Rovers and Oxford comes just three days after Grant McCann’s men play host to newly-promoted Bromley and just four days before the team’s trip to face Wycombe Wanderers, who by that point will likely have a new manager through the door after parting ways with Michael Duff earlier this season.

Oxford are competing in League One for the first time since the 2023/24 campaign after their two-year stay in the Championship came to an end last season.

The U's are managed by former Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who is scheduled to face Doncaster Rovers for the first time in his managerial career.

It’s the first meeting between the two sides since a 1-1 draw at the Kassam Stadium on the final day of the 2021/22 season.

Grant McCann’s side are currently still waiting to find out when their other recently postponed match away to Luton Town will be played.
