Key Events
- Doncaster are unbeaten in pre-season so far, with just one goal conceded
- Today’s opponents reached the Championship play-off final last term
- Adam Clayton should be fit to face his former club despite a hamstring complaint
Tomlin showing his quality
First he finds a teammate with a perfectly hit cross-field ball then controls an aerial ball down to another teammate with his shoulder.
Good stop Mitchell
Danny Ward breaks free of a defender and gets into the box. He fires a low shot towards goal that’s blocked by Jonny Mitchell’s foot. A follow-up effort is then headed over the bar.
Now for a drinks break.
Rovers coming into it
...albeit slowly, but they’re having a bit more of the ball and causing one or two issues for Huddersfield.
A nice move sees Biggins find Maxwell on the left-hand side, who returns the favour with a low cross that’s blocked on its way towards goal.
Best opportunity for either side yet.
A little better
Rovers steal the ball back in the middle through Molyneux and enjoy a spell of possession, which ends in Maxwell’s ball over the top to George Miller just evading him.
Terriers dominant
They’ve had more than the lion’s share of possession and territory so far. Rovers struggling to keep hold of the ball for too long.
Another Huddersfield corner
They brake at pace through Holmes, but his attempted delivery from the byline is bundled out by Trialist B, a right-back.
Corner is dealt with comfortable at the near post. Rovers break but are wasteful in possession and Huddersfield quickly win the ball back in their own half.
Corner Huddersfield
Duane Holmes finds space and feeds the ball to Sorba Thomas, whose cross is blocked by Jmes Maxwell, who does well to head the ball clear following the initial delivery. Two bits of good defending from the trialist.
Not long now (thankfully)
Adam Clayton once again captains Rovers. Tommy Rowe is also starting and has previously held the armband, but McSheffrey has stuck with the former Middlesbrough and Huddersfield man.
