Rovers have won their first three friendlies, conceding just one goal in the process, but a tough assignment against last season’s Championship play-off finalists awaits this afternoon.

Adam Clayton – who has captained Doncaster throughout pre-season – is expected to be fit enough to face his former club after being substituted after just 30 minutes in Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Spennymoor Town.

Drinks break - and a host of Huddersfield changes

He’s quick off his line to collect the ball after some intricate play from Huddersfield on the edge of the are results in a dangerous floated delivery into the six-yard box.

Lovely stuff from Rovers

Their high pressing causes more problems for Huddersfield and Luke Molyneux wins the ball back and Rovers work it out to Tommy Rowe on the opposite flank via Harrison Biggins in the middle.

Rowe tees up a shot that flies wide when he probably should do better. More good work from the home side, however.

Danny Grant replaces Sorba Thomas for Huddersfield. Doncaster unchanged.

Not a bad half whatsover for Doncaster.

This is comfortably their toughest test yet and, as expected, Hudderfield have dominated the ball and their quality is also evident. But Rovers have had spells of their own and there’s been good chances at either end.

Doncaster have been better organised at the back so far this afternoon. James Maxwell and the other trialist at right-back have defended well against two tough customers on either flank for the Terriers.

Tomlin lets out his frustration

Perhaps against his better instincts, he tries to beat Duane Holmes for pace as Rovers break. The diminutive winger gets the better of him and a shove in the back as a result. Nothing else in it.

Moments later Tomlin fires just wide after cleverly winning a free-kick high up the pitch.

Play opens up and Molyneux finds Miller after gaining territory in the opposition half. The striker tees up a goal-bound half-volley, which is blocked by a Huddersfield defender. Unlucky.

Chance for Huddersfield

Perhaps their best opening yet. Ward beats the offside trap but Thomas’ ball into the box is just too high for him.

Would have just needed a connection and that was probably in otherside.

Doncaster free kick

Tomlin’s delivery is blocked by the wall but Rovers retain possession and a period of pressure forces a corner after Molyneux’s shot from outside the box is blocked.

Corner comes to nothing after Nicholls collects with ease.

Another Huddersfield corner

Harrison Biggins dives in the way of Jon Russell’s effort from outside the box. Mitchell gathers the resultant delivery with relative ease.

Now a free-kick in a decent area for Rovers. Tomlin an Molyneux standing over it...
