There’s been plenty of young, mercurial talents who learned their craft on loan in Doncaster – let’s take a look at some of them. Did we miss any out?
9. Billy Sharp
There's no denying it - Billy Sharp is a Doncaster Rovers legend. He originally joined Donny on loan back in 2009, where he was a roaring success - so much so that Rovers were willing to pay over a million pounds to sign him up permanently. Since then, he had another loan spell at the Eco-Power in 2014, though this was far from Billy at his best. He achieved his Premier League dream in 2019, where he found the net in England's top flight for the first time. However, this was not his first time in the Premier League - he made his top tier debut back in 2012, for Southampton. Photo: George Wood
10. Enda Stevens
Another ex-Rovers loanee who went onto play for Sheffield United, Enda Stevens had (and still has) all the makings of a quality full back. Hard working, defensively solid and unafraid to maraud forward, it's not difficult to see how he ended up playing Premier League football. So far, he's made 75 Premier League appearances across his career, scoring two goals - he's also collected 23 caps for the Republic of Ireland. Photo: Stu Forster
11. Ryan Mason
Ryan Mason was just 19 years of age when he joined Doncaster on loan back in 2010 - his quality was clear to see, but he wasn't the finished product, either. He made a few appearances for his parent club, Spurs, before moving to Hull City. It was here where Mason suffered a tragic skull injury that closed the curtain on his career in an instant - he still maintains a role in the sport however, as he's now a first team coach at Tottenham. 12. Jacob Ramsey
A talented midfielder with an eye for goal, Jacob Ramsey is the youngest player on the list and arguably the most impressive. He was great during his time in DN4, making brave runs through the centre and scoring the odd goal here and there. This success translated into the Premier League, where he now has 49 appearances and six goals - and he's only 20 years old! Truly, the sky is the limit for this young man. Photo: Marc Atkins
