There’s been plenty of young, mercurial talents who learned their craft on loan in Doncaster – let’s take a look at some of them. Did we miss any out?
5. Lynden Gooch
Lynden Gooch didn't set the world alight during his time at the Eco-Power stadium (which was then called the Keepmoat Stadium), however, this wasn't entirely his fault - he was rumoured to be playing on an injured foot for most of the stint. He played during the 2015/16 season, which saw Rovers relegated to League Two at its culmination (the more things change, the more they stay the same). Gooch made his Premier League debut in 2016 for Sunderland, in a season where the Black Cats were ultimately relegated to the Championship. Photo: Stu Forster
6. Jordon Mutch
Jordon Mutch played for Doncaster all the way back in 2010 under Sean O'Driscoll, where he scored two goals in 17 appearances. Subsequent to this, Mutch impressed audiences in the Premier League with Cardiff, although he couldn't save the Bluebirds from relegation. He went on to sign for Crystal Palace, where he had less success. In total, he has made 78 Premier League apps, along with seven goals to his name. Photo: Kirk Irwin
7. John Lundstram
Many Rovers fans will look back on John Lundstram's time in DN4 with fondness - he played an integral role in the League One winning campaign of 2012/13. Although he joined halfway through the season, he provided a vital energetic presence in midfield and was always open to receive a pass. Since then, he's made 62 appearances in the Premier League for Sheffield United, scoring five goals. Photo: Pool
8. Jed Steer
Jed Steer joined Doncaster's ranks back in the 2014/15 season, following a relegation from the Championship. A reliable shot stopper, Steer's failings came when he was tasked with dealing with set pieces - at just six feet tall, he wasn't the most imposing of goalkeepers. Still, he's managed to rack up three Premier League appearances over the span of his career, all of them for Aston Villa. Photo: Tony Marshall
