M18 closed in Doncaster this afternoon after police incident

The southbound carriageway has three closed between junction four, Armthorpe, and junction three, Highways Engand has confirmed this afternoon.

Highways England said: “The M18 southbound J4 to J3 is in the process of being CLOSED due to an incident.”

They said South Yorkshire Police and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were at the scene.

Normal traffic conditions are not expected to return before 5.45pm, they said, and congestion was described as severe.
