The latest Environment Agency statement for the lower River Don area stated river levels on the River Don were ‘elevated and still rising’.

It stated: “We expect levels to continue rising throughout today (16/02/2020), forecast to peak at Doncaster between 17:00 and 20:00. Fordstead lane is now flooding and Jubliee Bridge is closed. Please do not walk or drive through flood water and plan driving routes to avoid low lying land that may be flooded.

“We have staff in the field and are closely monitoring the situation from our incident room. We are supporting our partners in a co-ordinated multi-agency response to ensure that we are prepared to respond. We are implementing our contingency plan for the village of Fishlake.”
