Retail duo mark 60 years of combined service at Lakeside Village
Staff at Lakeside Village are being celebrated for their long service.
Two Doncaster women are celebrating an incredible 30 years of working side-by-side at Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping.
Sue Newsham, 63, from Hatfield, and Jean Bray, from Doncaster, have both reached the remarkable milestone after joining the centre when it first opened three decades ago.
Over the past 30 years, the pair have worked together across several stores at Lakeside Village, starting at Remington for 12 years, followed by four years at Past Times, before joining The Gift Company, where they have spent the last 14 years helping customers find the perfect present.
Sue said: “I can’t believe it has been 30 years. It’s great working at The Gift Company. We have some really lovely customers, and the store offers fantastic products at affordable prices. We sell lots of great gift sets, and it’s always nice to see people leaving happy with their choices.”
Sue, who is part of a five-strong team, says she has no plans to retire and has enjoyed having Jean by her side throughout her entire Lakeside Village career.
Jean said: “I love working here, working with Sue and meeting so many different people. There have been countless memorable moments over the years, from fancy-dress days and winning centre competitions to the visit of the Coca-Cola Christmas truck.
“It’s been a wonderful place to work and I’m looking forward to welcoming customers for many more years to come.”
Jean also has no plans to retire anytime soon and is looking forward to helping customers during the busy festive shopping season.
Lyndsey Parry, Centre Manager at Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping, said: “What an amazing achievement. We are incredibly proud of Sue and Jean and extremely grateful for their long service, commitment and dedication to both the centre and our customers over the past three decades.
“They are valued members of the Lakeside Village family, and their contribution has helped create the welcoming experience our visitors know and love.”
