Police and fire crews at scene of serious emergency incident in Doncaster tonight

Police and fire crews are at the scene of a major emergency incident which has closed a major Doncaster road tonight.

Thorne Road has been closed near to Doncaster Royal Infirmary this evening.

Photos show a police car and fire engine blocking the road near to Axholme Road.

Residents in the area have reported numerous emergency vehicles at the scene with vehichles being diverted towards Beckett Road and into Town Moor and Intake.

We have asked police for details of the incident.
