Sarah Donnelly wanted to do something positive during lockdown but was unsure how she could make a big difference as she had two vulnerable family members at home.
Sarah, aged 38 from Bessacarr, said: “I wanted to be out there delivering meals or doing something on the front line.

Sarah started thinking about what she could do from home.
Together with her friends Rebecca Edwards and Laura Donnelly she started The Yorkshire Food Review.
A social media account that focuses on supporting Doncaster food businesses who may have taken a hit during the pandemic.
The account started on Instagram with reviews of local restaurants who had switched to delivery only methods during lockdown.

“When venues started to open we ventured out but gosh it was cold.
“Hot water bottles were a must.”
Sarah believes that by sharing her thoughts on the meals on The Yorkshire Review that she is helping the Doncaster businesses get back on their feet.
“We always get a good response from the owners when we share the reviews,” Sarah continued.
“I definitely feel like I’m doing some good.”

They have no plan to stop now and no matter what the pandemic restrictions may be they want to continue to support Doncaster businesses.
“We have been surprised by the amount of new food businesses popping up in town,” she said.
“Lots of trendy, funky cafes making Donny feel more cosmopolitan.
