"Also its a deliberate attempt by Cadbury to upset religious types.”

But most of our readers were not concerned over the content of the advert but instead were enraged that anybody would share the chocolate treat.

Lover of Creme Eggs Jean Ward said: “I would never ever ever share my Cream Egg, even with my grandchildren that I really love.”

Daniel Wilkinson said: “I’m more annoyed that my style of cream egg eating hasn’t been portrayed! Down in one! The only way to do it.”

She said: “Why would you share your creme egg? Nope. That baby is all mine."

But other readers are not a fan of the Easter treat.

Daniel Bell said: “The issue should be the ridiculous amount of sugar and 0 per cent of chocolate in every egg.

"The only thing that's offensive is Cadbury’s!”

Reader Kev Rooke raised an interesting point about Covid-19 guidelines.

He said: “Surely nobody should be encouraged to share any kind of food with Covid-19 ripping through the country?”
