Members of public sought to join Doncaster prison monitoring board
A recruitment event will take place later this month.
Members of the public are being sought to join an organisation to monitor a Doncaster prison.
The Independent Monitoring Board, the public body that monitors the fair and humane treatment of people in prisons and other places of detention, is looking for people to join its team for monitoring HMP Lindholme.

A spokesperson said: “At a time when prisons are regularly in the spotlight, this is a unique opportunity for local people to contribute to the independent scrutiny of their local prison, helping to promote transparency and accountability within the system.”
The IMB is made up of volunteers from the local community who are appointed by ministers to monitor the fair and humane treatment of people in prison.
Board members have unrestricted access to the prison, hear directly from prisoners, and report to the minister on issues including safety, healthcare, living conditions and rehabilitation.
HMP Lindholme's IMB is currently looking to recruit new members, and a representative from the Board will be attending a recruitment fair taking place on 30 September 2026, from 10am to 2pm, at The Circle, 33 Rockingham Lane, Sheffield, S1 4FW.
