The body of a man has reportedly been found in a skip at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, sparking police to close off part of the hospital this morning.

A cordon is in place near to the Accident and Emergency entrance in Armthorpe Road, but hospital bosses say the Infirmary is operating as usual and patients should attend as normal.

A DRI source said police found the body in a skip outside the hospital earlier today.

South Yorkshire Police have also yet to confirm details of the incident.

A spokesman for Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust said: “Gate 3 at the Trust is currently closed (Emergency Department and Outpatients) to everything other than urgent drop-offs and ambulances - pedestrian access is unaffected.

“Please use either the hospital's main entrance at Gate 4, South Block entrance near Gate 6 or the entrance opposite the Women's and Children's Hospital at Gate 1.”
