Kayley is crowned Miss South Yorkshire 2026

Miss Great Britain is the biggest and most prestigious stage in British pageantry

A Doncaster woman has been crowned Miss South Yorkshire 2026.

Kayley Metcalf, aged 29, lives in Thorne and following her success will be representing the county at the prestigious Miss Great Britain finals in October.

Born and raised in York, attending Tadcaster Grammar School during her secondary school years, and York College from 16-18 years old, Kayleigh moved to Thorne in 2022, and is currently a HR Shared Services Coordinator at Keepmoat Homes.

Outside of her career she is a massive lover of the outdoors - this year she officially ticked off all three of the UK's highest peaks (Scafell Pike, Mount Snowdon, and Ben Nevis).

She said: “I also have a passion for charity fundraising and advocating and raising awareness of the importance of women attending their routine Cervical Screenings through my Instagram page @ScreenandFlourish which I created in 2024.

“Back in 2020 I participated in my first ever pageant, Miss North Yorkshire (not part of the Miss GB system), and actually won this. I had entered purely to build my confidence and meet new people - which I absolutely did, meeting one of my now closest friends.

“I thought I'd hung up my pageant shoes for good, until I began closely following the Miss Great Britain system around three years ago, and knew I wanted to give it a shot.”

Kayley entered Miss GB South Yorkshire in 2025 and came 1st Runner-Up (2nd place), so this year was her second time competing for the title, and she said: “I'm so so grateful to have won. I proved to myself that dreams really are worth chasing, and to not let setbacks or the fear of failure stop you going for what you want.”

Miss Great Britain is the biggest and most prestigious stage in British pageantry, which gives a huge platform for those with a passion for advocating for what they believe in and raising funds for worthy causes.
