Dean Cook, marketing manager of AmbiSpace, joined the Keeping Doncaster Tidy event at the Eco Power Stadium.

He said: “It was fantastic to take part.
“Businesses, charities, and individuals from across Doncaster came together with one shared goal: to make our city cleaner and greener by picking up litter around the Doncaster city centre area.
“Although, I felt like my social battery was rather low, so after I filled a bag with the group I was assigned to, I then went back to get another couple of bags and went on my own near the stadium hills.
“I know there they are prone to people leaving cans, bottles, and wrappers all over the tops.
“After filling five full bags I decided to call it a day. A small effort, but one that felt meaningful as part of a much bigger community push.
“During the event, I had the chance to speak with the incredible team from Rapid Relief Team who provided catering and first aid support.”
Rod Paterson, team leader for Doncaster, shared more about the amazing work RRT does.
With 60 volunteers in Doncaster and around 16,000 globally, they support charities, organisations, and communities, including groups like the YMCA, and also step in during emergency situations when help is needed most.
Added Dean: “Although I came to pick up litter, I left feeling inspired after learning more about such a wonderful organisation making a real difference. They certainly felt like the unsung heroes of the event.
A huge thank you to Doncaster Chamber, Doncaster Council and Club Doncaster / Doncaster Rovers FC for organising this brilliant community initiative. “
