Doncaster business want city to turn pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month

Plant-Fit have dressed their trucks in pink bras to support the Turn Doncaster Pink campaign.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the UK and this year there is a ‘Turn Doncaster Pink’ campaign which has been launched by SISI Events owner Sarah Robinson.

Plant-Fit a Doncaster based business who provide specialised plant hire and machinery solutions are supporting this campaign.

Hayley Mayes, Business Development Manager at Plant Fit told us: “October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re slightly early with our Turn Doncaster Pink campaign because I’m on annual leave at the start of October and I really wanted to be here to see the launch!

“Our trucks and yard are all dressed in pink, supporting the amazing Sarah Robinson.

”And the pink T-shirts have been designed by some beautiful ladies who have been through, or are currently going through, breast cancer and who support SISI Events.

“That makes seeing them around Doncaster even more special.

“But whilst the pink trucks might make you smile, there’s a really important message behind them.

“Around 55,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK.”

One woman is diagnosed every nine minutes, and one man every day.

“ If you spot one of our pink trucks out and about, send me a photo!

“We’d love to see where they are.

“Let’s spread a little pink, raise awareness and, most importantly, remind people to check themselves.”
