Terrifying moment driver crashes car into Doncaster home leaving woman in hospital

A man has been arrested after crashing his car into a house in Doncaster, injuring an elderly woman.

It happened at a property on Harlington Court, Denaby, just after 9pm last night (Sunday, January 26) after South Yorkshire Police were alerted to a Skoda travelling at ‘excessive speed’.

After the vehicle failed to stop, a short police pursuit ensued.

Shocking footage of the car emdedded in a house has since emerged online.

A spokesperson for the force said: “The driver of the car is then believed to have lost control and collided with a property in Harlington Court.

“The driver is reported to have fled the scene.”

The 23-year-old man was later detained by officers.

He was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop when directed, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving over the prescribed limit of alcohol. He remains in police custody.

The occupant of the house, a 68-year-old woman, was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

A 20-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Skoda, was uninjured in the incident.

The South Yorkshire Police spokesperson added: “The incident will be subject to a mandatory referral to the IOPC.”

An investigation into the incident is now inderway.
