Children, aged five and seven, taken to hospital after being attacked by a Malinois dog in Doncaster

Police were called at around 4pm yesterday (Tuesday, May 24) following reports that a dog had bitten two children who had been walking along Carr View Avenue, Doncaster, with their mother.

Officers attended and the two children, aged five and seven, were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The dog, a Malinois type, has been seized and a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a Dangerous Dogs Act offence.

The suspect has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
