The Aurora Wellbeing Centre usually focuses on helping people who have been through cancer but due to Covid-19 they have switched up their services so that they can support key workers.

“Our team of experienced therapists, nurses and volunteers are ready to take calls and support key workers of any kind,” said Lynee Rothwell, founder of Aurora.

“We know so many front line workers are going through immense stress right now and if you don’t deal with it and just soldier on then it maybe ten times worse when all of this is over.

“Strong work ethics can push people to ignore how scared and anxious they are - but the situation seems to be getting worse every day.

“If you need someone to talk to you can call us.”

Aurora is tailoring their service to every individual who needs it whether they need to have a quick chat to get something off their chest or multiple conversations to deal with something troubling them.

Lynee said: “We have 35 volunteers and the capacity to talk to so many people and help them through this.

The team from Aurora are ready to help people who need emotional support and bereavement counselling due to the coronavirus.

“It’s incredibly difficult right now and many people are losing loved ones without being able to say goodbye,” she continued.

“For example for people who have parents in nursing homes and have not been able to visit may have lost them in the last month and not been able to grieve properly.”

Aurora is encouraging people who may not usually consider this type of service to pick up the phone.
