Becca Wright, artist, aged 26, from Loversall has decided to bring a little bit of culture to Doncaster’s nightlife with a two hour art class.

She said: “Doncaster needs more things like this - something different from the Silver Street culture.

“It’s an art class but it’s not serious - you can be a complete beginner and walk out with a piece of art.

“I will be taking everyone through step by step, and after two hours you will have painted a waterfall scene.”

The event is being held on February 27, from 7pm at Yates bar - it will cost £26 for a ticket but all materials are included.

“It’s a great way to meet new people and do something new,” Becca continued.

“As far as I’m aware there isn’t anything else like this in Doncaster.

“Places like Leeds and Sheffield have classes but sometimes they can be expensive and too serious.”

Doncaster has a youth age gap with only 6 per cent of the population within the age range 20-26 (the national average is 10-12 per cent).

Becca hopes that this will be an event to bring young people together.

But it is open to all ages - no matter the level of artistic talent.

She said: “There isn’t much of an art scene in Doncaster and I would love to do more of these events so that people have a more cultural activity to choose.”

Becca is a full time artist and paints on commision from her home in Loversall.

“The kind of art I create is quite realistic,” she continued.

“I like to do portraits and focus on animals, generally people bring me a photo and I turn it into a painting.

“I’ve always just had that talent in me to paint.”

Becca will teach her method to the class of around 20 at the event.
