Doncaster Chamber seeks businesses to come and inspire the next generation of talent
Despite the recent challenges from the pandemic, Doncaster Chamber wants to showcase the depth and diversity of careers that are still available in Doncaster.
Doncaster Chamber are holding a virtual careers fair for young people in Doncaster aged 14+ and are keen for local businesses to get involved.
Like most large scale events scheduled to take place, since the onset of the pandemic, the flagship careers event has been forced to pivot and go virtual. Opportunities Doncaster LIVE will take place on May 19 on a bespoke platform.
Karen Beardsley, Managing Director (UK Rail Operations) of headline sponsors Unipart Rail said, “With our Silver Investors in People accreditation and our very strong emphasis on developing our team members we are always looking for the best talent in Doncaster to help us maintain our position as one of the rail industries’ leading supply partners.
“Because of this, the Opportunities Doncaster LIVE event is perfect for us to sponsor – we are very pleased to support the creation of opportunities for our fellow Doncastrians and we are looking forward to the event”.
The platform will be live between 17-21 May with live, interactive activities and sessions taking place on 19 May.
The event is joint headline sponsored by Doncaster College and University Centre and Unipart Rail, with other sponsorship from Willmott Dixon and MechFS.
Local employers and education providers will be able to share video content of what it’s like to work at their organisation, promote live vacancies on the job board and take part in Q&A sessions and workshops live with schools and students.
The aim of the event is to engage, inspire and celebrate young people to think about the prospective careers, employment options and ongoing education opportunities available to them in and around Doncaster, and to encourage them to make the most of their remaining time in education.
Opportunities Doncaster LIVE first took place at Doncaster Racecourse in 2020, and saw over 3,500 students pass through its doors to meet with 100 local employers. The largest of its kind in South Yorkshire, the flagship careers fair organised by Doncaster Chamber supports businesses to meet their corporate social responsibility commitments, encourages support from the local community and helps to raise business profiles.
Exhibition stands cost £99 and will be live between 17-21 May.
