The stuff of legends

The Sky Bet Chase – otherwise known as the Great Yorkshire Chase – is a listed National Hunt race over three miles. It’s had a fine lineage of success. Racegoers will remember Ziga Boy, who won the race twice, and Tom Moloney still holds the crown as the most successful jockey ever, with three wins to his name. The late Fred Rimell was the most successful trainer with four wins at the Chase.

What to expect

There’s plenty of action to enjoy – seven jump races take place on both Friday 27th and Saturday 28th January.

Of course, it’s not just the drama on the track that draws the crowd. Gates open from 11am, with the first race two hours later and high-adrenalin action all the way through to dusk.

What does it cost?

When times are tight we all love a bargain – every child 17 and under gets in for free* with an accompanying adult (some exclusions apply), and the price packages offer plenty of bang for buck whatever your budget.

The early bird offer of ‘A Day at the Races Grandstand Package’ has sold out for the Saturday but there are a limited amount left for the Friday. This package includes an admission ticket, a pie, a pint, and a racecard for just £19.50. There are also plenty more options to choose from, including affordable day tickets and high-end packages if you want to start the year in style.
