Pantomime season begins in Yorkshire from November 2024, with a number of venues and theatre groups already touring what fans of the artform can expect ahead of Christmas 2024.
This year’s list of pantomimes almost reads like a “greatest hits,” with Cinderella and Beauty and The Beast seemingly the more popular pantomime options taking place across the region this year; though there’s always room from Dick Whittington and Aladdin during panto season.
We’ve rounded up 15 pantomimes taking place across Yorkshire in 2024, with tickets to many of the performances taking place available through ATG Tickets, if not directly from the box office of the locations themselves.
5. Aladdin - York
Cbeebies and CBBC superstar, Evie Pickerill, will bring her sparkle and flair as Spirit of the Ring to York's Theatre Royale from December 3 2024. York favourite, Robin Simpson (Dame Trott in Jack and the Beanstalk, Mrs Smee in All New Adventures of Peter Pan and Manky in Cinderella) will be returning for another sensational show. | Provided
6. Snow White - Sheffield
The Lyceum in Sheffield present Snow White as their pantomime this year, taking place from December 6 2024. Starring Catherine Tyldesley (Strictly Come Dancing, Coronation Street) as the Wicked Queen, Gladiator's Viper Quang Luong, Sheffield’s favourite Dame, Damian Williams and Sheffield's own, Matthew Croke, plus Marc Pickering, George Akid and Aoife Kenny. | Provided
7. Pinocchio - York
Geppetto, an old toy maker, always longed for a son of his own. One starry night, with a little help from the Blue Fairy and a cheeky little cricket, his wish came true and his latest puppet, Pinocchio, came to life! But the magical puppet with no strings catches the eye of the evil showman Stromboli who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the enchanted toy. 8. The Adventures of Pinocchio - Bradford
Comedy sensation and Bradford panto legend Billy Pearce returns to the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford from December 7 2024, as he leads the cast as toymaker Geppetto, with his prize creation Pinocchio transforming from the famous puppet to a real boy, whose nose grows every time he tells a lie. | Provided
