The 21-year-old, from Hatfield, already has a British title in the bag this year.

Rickaby was aged just 18 when he became a world champion.

Tomorrow the former Hall Cross School pupil will begin his quest to land a first ever European title - and he’ll have home advantage as the IJSBA Jettribe Euro Jetski Championship Tour arrives in Doncaster.

“It’s always great to race on home turf and I’ll have plenty of support down at Lakeside this weekend,” said Rickaby.

“I’ve won another British title this year, I’ve won a world title in the past, so I’d love to complete the set and win a European title.

“It’ll be a tough competition, against Europe’s best,” he added.

“I’m the baby of the group too. Most of the other riders are in their mid-twenties.

“But I’ll give it my best shot. I’m in good form.”

Rickaby has already won the Runabout Stock 4 Stroke class of the 2014 JSRA British Championships - winning every race in the process.

He also leads the Runabout GP class with one round to go.

The former Novice Stock world champion finished second in Belgium and fourth in Austria in the earlier rounds of the Euro Tour.

Racing takes place at Lakeside on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - with Rickaby scheduled to compete on each afternoon.
