RACING TIP OF THE DAY
Friday 10th October
GM HOPKINS
York 3.00 WIN
Trainer John Gosden was keen to play down the victory of this progressive three-year-old in the Silver Cambridgeshire at Newmarket two weeks ago and even hinted that the colt was a bit of a character who got bored easily. However, the son of Dubawi was undeniably impressive, travelling and quickening up like a class act, and given it was only the fifth start of his career, there must be more to come. This is a stiff ask off 9lb higher and against more experienced rivals, a couple of whom ran well in the Cambridgeshire itself. But the case for him is strengthened by a good, low draw and a proven liking for soft ground.
