Tips and analysis ahead of Sunday's meeting at Doncaster

The action gets underway at 1.45pm and culminates at 4.45pm. The going is currently Good to Firm and we have previewed the action with our race by race guide.

1.45pm Handicap (7f). Selection: Aweemaweh

Mick Channon has his string in decent form and with Aweemaweh now down to a mark of 68 he makes appeal to regain the winning thread having scored off a mark of 65 earlier this season.

2.15pm Maiden Stakes (7f). Selection: Aswan

A fascinating race with a number of interesting debutants. Private Signal is a son of Sea The Stars and cost a whopping 680,000gns. He is related to Group One winners Legatissimo and Fame And Glory and looks a fascinating runner. Austrian Theory cost 30,000gns and is another newcomer to watch along with 70,000gns buy Oh Great who was purchased for 70,000gns. However, the one they have to beat is Aswan who boasts the experience having finished fourth on debut at Yarmouth. The son of Caravaggio stayed on nicely on that occasion and can take another step forward here.

2.45pm Maiden Stakes (1m 4f). Selection: Golden Bugle

Another interesting event. Neptune Seas is a debutant for Godolphin who is a son of Sea The Stars and cost 330,000gns. Line Of Descent shaped with promise when third at Doncaster on debut and has to enter calculations along with Praiano who was bought for 500,000gns and will come on plenty for his debut at Carlisle last month. However, Golden Bugle comes from a great family which features a number of Group One winners and she can progress again having finished third at Nemwarket on her second start last month.

3.15pm Handicap (5f). Selection: Ginger Jam

The veteran Caspian Prince is a danger given his fine runs in defeat this term, but Ginger Jam progressed nicely to score at Bath last time out and looks capable of defying a 4lb rise.

3.45pm Handicap (7f). Selection: Headingly

Headingly was well-beaten last time, but it looked as if the ground was to blame on that occasion and he had previously finished a good second on handicap debut at Goodwood. He looks capable of more improvement.

4.15pm Handicap (6f). Selection: Tamaska

He has won two of his last three starts and was not disgraced when beaten off a mark of 66 last time out. Interestingly, he runs off the same mark here and cannot be discounted in this event.

4.45pm Handicap (1m 6f). Selection: Summer’s Knight

Seagulls Nest is interesting based on a good third at Yarmouth earlier this week. However, he could have his work cut out with Fandabidozi respected after finishing third behind a progressive rival at Nottingham. However, he could have his work cut out against Summer’s Knight. He was well-beaten over shorter trips in four novice events last term and then failed to justify favouritism when fourth at Brighton in May over 10 furlongs. Stepped up again to 14 furlongs, this trip may eke out further improvement and he is taken to land the finale.
