Bilal Anjam’s side could only muster 126 all out at Town Fields after being skittled for just 92 against Treeton the previous week.

Town, who won the 2019 ECB Yorkshire South Premier League title and reached the final of last year’s reduced competition, have now lost four of their opening six games in the Premier Division of the newly-formed Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League.

Anjam made 32 but his top six colleagues all departed for single figure scores as Doncaster were reduced to 58-6.

Stuart Guy (31) and Robert Heyes (29) dug deep to at least post a defendable total.

Anjam then struck twice with the ball as Collegiate slipped to 47-4 to give Town a sniff.

However, Jamie Carrington (50no) and Shaaiq Choudhry (30no) shared an unbroken fifth wicket stand of 80 to guide the visitors home in 36 overs.

Town lie tenth in the early standings with only Hallam and Elsecar beneath them in the table.

They travel to unbeaten Wakefield Thornes on Saturday and host Appleby Frodingham on Bank Holiday Monday.

Meanwhile, Tickhill’s trip to Hallam fell victim to the weather.

Tickhill host Appleby Frodingham on Saturday and are at home to Cawthorne on Monday.
