Sprotbrough beat Aston Hall in the South Yorkshire League Championship final.

Their 26-run victory capped an excellent season for the Melton Road club.

Tom Pepper (67), Ash Ward (59) and Ben Lyons (30) guided Sprotbrough to 216-7 from their allotted 40 overs.

Hall, who went into the final with an unbeaten record this year, could only reach 190 in response.

Richard Belk starred with the ball, claiming 4-36. Scott Mantovani and Michael Threapleton each took two wickets apiece.

Doncaster Town’s second XI won the Division Two final against Sheffield Collegiate’s third XI in convincing fashion.

Jack Woodiwiss (56), George Fisher (33) and Alex Pepper (29) helped Town post 176-7.

Collegiate were then dismissed for 109. Warren Graca claimed 3-23.

Askern Welfare’s final game of the Pontefract & District League season at West Bretton was postponed but they still finished the campaign second in Division One.

Alec Elliot scored 72 to help Hatfield Town to a thrilling one wicket win at Darton.

Hatfield finished sixth in table, Hooton Pagnell ninth and Brodsworth Main 11th.
