Evening League: Winning starts for Hooton Pagnell, Bawtry and Hatfield Town

Hooton Pagnell celebrated their return to the Doncaster & District Evening Infirmary League with an opening round eight-run win over Belaco 11.

Peter Atkinson top scored with 62 not out to guide Pagnell to 150-5 from their 20 overs. Belaco 11 were all out for 142 in response.

Bawtry eased to a nine wicket win against Bentley Colliery.

Bentley posted a descent score of 124-3 including 35 from Stephen Ashworth and 30 not out from Arron Gillies.

Alex Kirkham took two wickets and then struck an unbeaten 57 to lead his side to victory with 5.4 overs to spare. Liam Prenrose also made 40 not out.

Hatfield Town were six wicket winners at home to Warriors in a close contest at Carr Side Lane.

Qeyash Khan top scored with 52 in Warriors’ competitive score of 146-7.

Town won in the last over thanks to 49 from Jake Van Oorschot and Jono Margetts’ unbeaten 44.
