The RFU has implemented a regular testing programme ahead of the new Championship season in March.

Knights returned to training in November but, despite the new campaign drawing ever closer, are still limiting the amount of contact work they do at Castle Park.

"At the moment we’re under the elite sport banner so we just continue with that,” Boden told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"We’re under a really strict testing regime which our medical staff and the RFU have done an unbelievable job to set up.

"We were tested yesterday (Monday) and we’ve just had the results come back – we had 46 negative cases.

"So at the moment the Covid regulations around professional sport are the reason why it’s able to stay open.

"The regulations are so strict around face coverings and testing procedures so while you’re in the working environment it is fairly safe.”

Meanwhile, in rugby league, Doncaster RLFC have been forced to pause their pre-season training for at least two weeks following an intervention from the RFL, the game’s governing body.
