Promoter Eddie Hearn has slammed the offer that was given to Conisbrough heavyweight Dave Allen for a potential fight with Daniel Dubois.

Hearn says he was unhappy with the money that Allen, 27, would be receiving for that fight and he wants the offer to be increased.

He feels that Allen can make the same money fighting one of the heavyweight contenders in Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing stable.

“I’m not very happy with that money," said Hearn.

"I just feel like this time he (Allen) can get more money than that to fight Daniel Dubois in January, February or December, and he’ll get more money than that to fight another top heavyweight from our stable (Matchroom).

"If you’re going to fight those guys, you’ve got to be 100 percent ready."

When quizzed on whether Allen would be ready for a fight in December, Hearn added: "They’re dangerous guys. Allen would be ready but he wouldn’t be right."

Allen's last outing came in July, when he lost to David Price after being pulled out by his corner following 10 brutal rounds.

Speaking in the aftermath of his fifth defeat in the paid ranks, Price admitted that he was "now probably done".

Dubois has an unblemished 13-fight record and is the reigning current British and Commonwealth Heavyweight champion.

* Bentley super flyweight Craig Derbyshire will make the first defence of his English title on Saturday night in Hull.

Derbyshire won the crown in May with a sensational win over heavy favourite Nathan Reeve.

And he will defend against Marcel Braithwaite (8-1-0) this weekend.
