Hockey: Nothing unlucky about 13 for Doncaster Ladies

It was certainly not unlucky for Doncaster Ladies as they hit 13 in a rampant victory over Kendal at Town Fields.

Though it took them eight minutes to open the scoring, Doncaster were 4-0 up inside the first 20 minutes and ran out 13-3 winners at the end.

Holly Brown got the scoring underway with Amelia Milton added the second a minute later.

Brown added here second before Helen Karditas made it four with 20 minutes gone.

Kendal pulled a goal back early in the second half but Doncaster hit back immediately through Milton.

Excellent work from the hosts saw them score twice in the space of a minute with Brown bagging both to take her personal tally to four.

Kendal clawed a goal back but Doncaster again countered, making it 8-2 courtesy of Sarah Thorpe.

Brown added her fifth goal before Katie Barnes took the team tally to ten.

Kendal again pulled a goal back but Barnes hit back two minutes later.

Milton and Thorpe both scored in the 69th minute to ensure the game finished 13-3.

The Ladies visit Alderley Edge on Saturday.

Doncaster Men were not in competitive action but the second team earned a narrow 5-4 win over Brigg. The third team also beat Brigg, winning 2-0. The Men’s fourths beat Leeds 4-0 while the fifths triumphed 5-0 over Sheffield Hallam.

The Ladies seconds drew 1-1 with Boston Spa but their were defeats for the thirds and fourths, beaten 3-2 and 5-0 to Canalside Terriers and Epworth respectively.
