Temporary boss Andy Butler revealed the winger sat the game out due to a strain but will be back in action soon.

“He’s just got a slight strain,” Butler said.

“It’s nothing bad. He won’t be long.”

Butler revealed both Madger Gomes and Taylor Richards were close to being considered for the game at Broadhurst Park as they continue their respective recoveries from injury but it was felt it was not worth the risk for them to feature on Saturday.

“They weren’t far,” he said.

“They’ve been training with the first team so it’s just about them getting the minutes and not being rushed too much.”

Butler was confident that the Rovers squad came through the 5-1 win over the seventh tier outfit unscathed.
