5. Harry Middleton
12/13 appearances: 1. The academy product remained with Rovers for another four years, establishing himself as part of the senior squad and making more than 70 appearances with the 15/16 season his best for the club. He joined Port Vale on a free transfer in August 2017 but failed to hold down a regular place and moved to Halifax on loan. Middleton signed for Alfreton Town in August 2018 before switching to Gainsborough Trinity. He now plays for Cleethorpes Town. Photo: Howard Roe/ahpix.com
6. Billy Paynter
12/13 appearances: 40. Though he was the top scorer in the 12/13 campaign, the striker struggled for opportunities under Paul Dickov in the Championship. He joined Sheffield United on loan for the second half of the 13/14 campaign. He joined Carlisle United upon his release then moved to Hartlepool United, remaining for two seasons until their relegation into the National League. 7. Paul Quinn
12/13 appearances: 43. The full back remained with Rovers for another season, playing regularly in the Championship but left the club in August 2014 after a disagreement. He returned to his native Scotland with Ross County before earning a move to Aberdeen. He returned to Ross County for family reasons and latterly played for Dundee United Photo: steve uttley
8. Emile Sinclair
12/13 appearances: 4. The Peterborough loanee spent the second half of the 12/13 season on loan at Rovers. At the end of the campaign he switched to Crawley Town for £100,000 but departed for Northampton on loan in January 2014, making the move permanent in the summer. He then switched to York in January 2015, with a loan spell at Guiseley. Spells in non-league with Bradford Park Avenue, Ossett, Goole and Liversedge followed. Photo: Steve Taylor
