Wait goes on for new additions at Doncaster Rovers

Rovers have deals agreed in principle with two Premier League clubs over the signing of young forwards on loan but continue to wait for the final approval to be given.

The domestic transfer window is open until October 16 and Moore believes that will allow clubs to take time to assess whether or not they want to send players out on loan.

But he is hopeful the fact the league season starts on Saturday for the top four tiers of English football will spur some into action.

“I can’t say there has been real progress,” he told the Free Press.

“We’re at the point where things can happen or they might not.

“Hopefully with us leading into the season this week, things will happen. Hopefully the other clubs are looking to start fully this season as well.

“With the unique transfer window that doesn’t close until next month, there’s still time for clubs to take their time, to start the season and look at their teams over a few games.

“That might be the knee-jerk reaction that kicks things on.

“But this window has been a real slow one. All of a sudden it’ll just hit the slope and run away with you. Don’t ask me why that happens, but it does.”

Rovers have experienced changes of heart from clubs in the past, with loan agreements for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Aaron Connelly and Norwich City’s Adam Idah failing to materialise.
