‘VAR gives that offside’ - Frustrated Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth on defeat to Doncaster Rovers
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Ainsworth labelled Rovers ‘lucky’ to have gone in at half time a goal ahead courtesy of Niall Ennis’ 45th minute strike but remained confident his side would emerge with something from the game.
Adebayo Akinfenwa equalised for the Chairboys only for Kieran Sadlier to sidefoot in from a Ben Whiteman free kick four minutes later.

“For 43 minutes we dominated with some of the best play that we’ve had,” Ainsworth said.
“Doncaster, if I’m being honest and I don’t know if they will be honest, I’m sure they felt quite lucky to be going in at half time 1-0 up.
“Unfortunately it happens in football.
“But even in the second half and when we got it back to 1-1 I was really positive and I thought we were going to go on to win the game.

“I’ve looked at it and I don’t really want to go on this but VAR gives it offside and it stays 1-1.
“It’s a big turning point in the game.
“We’re all professionals but he’s got it wrong and unfortunately Coppinger [sic] puts it in from an offside position.
“It’s one for my referee’s report to highlight.”
