The centre half appeared to jar his neck after an awkward collision with a Charlton player, and was unable to continue in the game.

Rovers boss Andy Butler revealed the centre half was immediately taken to hospital to be sure of the severity of his injury.

“He’s been sent to hospital for a precautionary scan,” Butler said.

“I think it was more neck. He didn’t lose consciousness.”

Butler sent on Cameron John for the centre half and says the centre half has to be ready to step in if the news on Wright’s condition is not positive.

“People have got to take their chance and get in the side,” Butler said. “Don’t ever think that you’re out of the team because it only takes one injury.”

Butler was confident the rest of his squad had made it through the game unscathed.
