While it is understood that Rovers have previously considered the midfielder as a potential signing, they will not be tabling a contract offer at this point.

Doyle-Hayes made three senior appearances for Villa, all in the League Cup but struggled for opportunities at first team level.

The Republic of Ireland age group international spent last season on loan at Cheltenham Town, making 36 appearances in a five-man midfielder during the run to the League Two play-offs. He won the division’s player of the month award for August.
