The Stoke City goalkeeper was handed his debut by England boss Aidy Boothroyd in the 5-0 win over Albania which closed their successful European Championship qualifying campaign for next summer’s tournament in Hungary and Slovenia.

And he only had one real save to make when he comfortably parried away a shot from distance that proved of little trouble.

A brace from Eddie Nketiah - who also missed a penalty - plus strikes from Callum Hudson-Odoi, James Justin and Jamal Musiala secured the comfortable win for England.
