Last year saw the number of incomings and outgoings both exceed double figures. And with as many as 20 players nearing the end of their current deals, it could be another busy one for manager Grant McCann and his staff.
Here, we look at every player whose current terms expire this coming summer:
17. Jon Taylor
Long-serving attacker Taylor has been stalked by injuries in recent years. He's played just 22 times since the start of the 2021-22 campaign. McCann recently confirmed he's set to undergo an operation on a knee injury saying that the hope is he'll be back before the end of the season: "We're hoping it's only going to keep him out for two or three weeks. The physio has spoken to Jon's surgeon and he's quite happy with the knee. All it is is a bit of floating bone that's in there that just needs removing. Jon is champing at the bit to get back." 18. Billy Waters

19. Zain Westbrooke
The midfielder is currently out injured but McCann has suggested he is on course for a much-needed return by late February or early March. McCann also revealed this week that Rovers have an option to extend the 27-year-old's stay, saying: "If I think back to the summer and who we signed and the players who had clauses put in their contracts, there's a few. Zain Westbrooke is one of them that has an option on his contract." Photo: Howard Roe/ahpix.com
20. Richard Wood
The veteran joined from local rivals Rotherham last summer on a one-year deal but endured a frustrating first half of the season. He's now back in the regular swing of things and speaking recently he told the Free Press he is desperate to make up for lost time but says no talks over an extension have yet begun: "We'll look at that in the summer. I just want to make an impression and give my all to this club. I want to bring all my experience and capabilities to the team so we can finish as high as possible this season."
