Yet that only underlines the strength in depth and competition at Doncaster Rovers this season, which could be key to their promotion push.
What’s more, Rovers wouldn’t be weakened if they swapped one player out for another in most, if not all, areas of the pitch.
Here’s our predicted team...

9. CM - Harrison Biggins
Another really hard call. It could go any way for the final spot. Why Biggins? Great work rate and the ability to produce a moment of real quality. If he can find some more consistency, which should be easier in a stronger team, Doncaster have a real player on their hands. Photo: Gareth Williams/AHPIX LTD

10. LM - Luke Molyneux
Deserves a start after some strong pre-season displays. It would seem Molyneux has played his way into McCann's starting XI, now it's time to fulfil that potential in a Rovers shirt. Photo: Gareth Williams/AHPIX LTD

11. ST - Joe Ironside
This photo illustrates what Ironside is about. And boy did Doncaster need some physicality at the top end of the pitch. He'll be a big player for the team this season, no doubt. George Miller offers something different, would be interesting to see the pair together at some stage... Photo: Gareth Williams/AHPIX LTD

12. RW - Kyle Hurst
Another tough call. All of the wide players have done well in pre-season, don't expect the two that start the match to finish it. If fit enough, Hurst gets the nod. We have all seen what he's capable of on his day. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
