Here is how we rated Rovers’ individual performances at the Keepmoat. Let us know what you think on Twitter @FreePressRovers.
1. Joe Lumley 7
Straight into the side for his debut as per the terms of his loan. He could not do anything about Sunderland’s goal and took care of the other shots that came his way with real assurance. He was very vocal throughout. Lumley should have mixed up his distribution out from the back but was most likely acting on instruction. Photo: Catherine Ivill
2. Brad Halliday 7
Denied the opportunity to attack with anything like his usual regularity in the first half but he took the chances to get forward in a more open second half. And then his excellent attack into the box created the equaliser. Dealt with the defensive side of things well also. Photo: Bruce Rollinson
3. Joe Wright 7
Was strong and commanding throughout and let very little get through despite the heavy Sunderland pressure in the first half. Perhaps fortunate to not concede a penalty in the first half. Photo: Bruce Rollinson
4. Tom Anderson 7
As commanding as ever and dealt with the various types of threat Sunderland posed to deny them many clear chances despite their pressure. Photo: Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD
